Hi, I’m VIOLETTE DAVIS.
You can call me “Vee”
I am an Author Accelerator certified Book Coach in fiction and a developmental editor. I am a huge story structure nerd who lights up when people start talking about what they are reading.
Especially if it’s romance or fantasy. I pretty much devour both, and sneak in some mysteries and nonfiction when I’m feeling adventurous. But I often find myself waking up too early, or falling asleep too late with my alpha males and vampire vixens. I love me some tropes, and I might spend too much time convincing you to love them too!

My story
I was born into a family of poets and publishers, writing teachers and artists, so of course I took my education and… owned a bar for ten years.
But you can’t escape the strange signs that life sends your way. I have my Certificate in Documentary Filmmaking from George Washington University, where I stayed up late hours with my friend picking at our script. I received my Masters in Public Health, and focused on communications. I spent way too many hours writing and editing menu item descriptions for anyone else to even care. All before I opened my laptop and began to write fiction.
And now, I spend my free time reading and writing, growing an indoor jungle (and failing at an outdoor one) and annoying my various human and animal family members until they feed me (wait a minute…).
Author Accelerator Certified in Fiction
I am certified and trained to teach and use the Author Accelerator Book Coaching tools that help people begin their writing journey, all the way to finding an agent or publisher.
Editorial Freelancers Association
I am a member of the EFA as well as received my certificates of accomplishment for their Line Editing Courses.
Why a cat as my logo?
Whether I’m editing, writing or reading, there’s usually two of us involved. My cat, Beast, can’t seem to be anywhere but on my legs when I’m working. And he’s often what makes me stay put when I’m wanting to give up.
