Tools, not rules.
Explore the various tools that I’ve both created and collected over time aimed to help you write an unputdownable book.
Please be patient as I develop this section and create an easily accessible library of tools for you. Right now it looks a little sparse, but hopefully by the end of the year this site will be packed with information for you.
I Believe…
Own your subgenre — find your fandom
With the ease of self-publishing and the hunger of agents to find their next Emily Henry, the romance field might feel overly populated.
But romance is the top selling genre.
And the beauty is that everyone has their own taste. There are endless readers searching for their next favorite author.
Master your craft — Write swoonworthy books
Romance is a fine balance between internal struggle and external circumstances, and how two people (or more) find each other and somehow come out of it better than before.
It is the most complicated of the genre dances, and yet, we think romance should be easy. But just like any other creative form, there are fundamentals.
Build your process — build your career
Writing should be fun! Okay, well, it can also feel like the world is ending, but we spend hours a day writing or thinking about writing, and therefore it should be something positive in our lives, not something we dread.
Use tools, not rules, to develop your own process, voice and confidence to write your next book.
